It began with an invitation.
It started as California Consciousness — a free, donation-based, community-built gathering dreamed up by Jack Price (@tohigherconsciousness) and his partner Savannah Smith (@yogasavvy), with a circle of teachers, yogis, sound healers and friends. There was a hosting team recruited one Instagram DM at a time, a website at caconsciousness.com, and an open call to bring blankets, tapestries, and an open heart.

The debut offered Savannah’s yoga, a talk on plant medicine from Fabian (@realization_nation), laughter meditation, crystal workshops, kundalini, and a sound bath — all free, all welcome. “It is amazing what we can do,” one post read, “when we all come together.”

The ritual heart
Sunday, on the grass, by the palm trees.
Week after week the soul family met in Long Beach — often at the 11:11 hour — for an all-levels yoga flow led by Savannah. Bring a mat, a towel, or a blanket. Come with a friend, or come alone. All donations welcome. No one turned away.
“Rain or shine. We out here. Soul family — where are you at? We are waiting for you.”
What actually happened
A whole day of medicine.
“We love, we share, we laugh, we grow, we connect, we learn, we dance, we vibe.” Every gathering wove together a handful of living practices — each held by a real person.

The Divine Feminine
A circle to bear witness to Her rising.
The Goddess Circles were held by @crystalladyluna, @davanamay and @lylaaj — a sacred space for the women of the tribe, woven into the larger gatherings.
“This is your sacred opportunity to face the shadow aspects of yourself with courage and compassion. We’re all in this together — so let’s love and support one another.”

Every frame you’ve seen exists because someone showed up to capture it — chiefly TUKRO Avci (@tukrography), who shot the gatherings and gave the photos back to the tribe, free to share. And the soul family ran deep. Drift through the constellation — tap any soul to find them.
The City of Angels & beyond
From Redondo Beach to Dolores Park.
The gatherings travelled — Redondo Beach, Long Beach, Mission Beach, the grass near the Griffith Park merry-go-round, even Dolores Park in San Francisco. The tribe brought talks and workshops to Lightning in a Bottle and sound baths to One Love Fest. Good vibes drew kindred spirits — among them the singer Jhené Aiko, who came to vibe with the tribe.
The becoming
We are one tribe — and we’re just getting started.
Over the years California Consciousness grew into the Cosmic Consciousness Tribe (@cosmicconsciousnesstribe). In 2018 the soul family threw a “galactic love in” — promising the greatest amount of hugs in one day you’d ever have. It became one of the most-loved moments in the whole archive.
A blessing for the road
Find your tribe. Love them hard.
“Big things often have small beginnings.” The gatherings quieted in 2018, the founders’ work flowing onward into new service. But the spirit — peace, hugs, oneness — never left.
